Don't know if this helps but I used to put DS into a baby walker with some unswallowable toys on the tray bit. He couldn't climb out or fall and I knew I could get about 15 minutes of speed cleaning done! He also loved sitting in the laundry basket with a few toys and I could drag this from room to room!

luckily DS used to get jammed on the rug in his. Would she play in cot or travel cot? Travel cot used to be handy as it was a bit of a novelty - except it used to take me 20 minutes and lots of swearing to put it together. I think the answer is to give up cleaning.

travel cot is at my mums?

could you put some toys in a portable bag / box and keep moving them and the baby around with you?

I put my baby in his cot with a few toys or wait until he has his morning/afternoon sleep to clean upstairs (mind you he sleeps thru anything).

Then I do a lightening clean around the top of the house. Or wait until the afternoon until the older ones get back from school to keep an eye on him downstairs.

Or.... wait til hubby gets home from work (explain that I have a baby to look after and its impossible to clean upstairs as well... ) then get hubby to hold the baby or better still get him to clean upstairs

hi night owl,

i put baby in cot with lots of toys and radio 1 playing some funky tunes.
or if i'm feeling particularily energetic i'll pop him into baby rucksac carry thing and have him on my back whilst i do vacuming, not so good when you want to clean bath etc as babes tends to slip out when you bend over!.

I have a Babydan playpen, keep it up all the time and it's brilliant. Must stop putting her in there so I can go on Mumsnet though!
