His hair looks horrendous!

So my children went to their dads over the weekend and my ex has clearly thought my son needs a haircut and taken the scissors and clippers to it himself and I am absolutely devastated. Not because he's had a haircut but because he's done it so badly I want to cry. He's got patchy balding spots on his back and sides with the worst fade in history and his fringe looks like it's been hacked at with long and sort choppy bits just hanging there I am so upset with how awful he looks. I know it's not the end of the world but I'm just so angry that he didn't just take him to the hairdressers and pay a fiver for a kids haircut instead of making him look like an absolute mess which I'm now going to have to try and get my hairdresser to fix. Am I over reacting or would anyone else be the same? I know hair grows back but it's the principle and pure laziness of not bothering to book him in to get a professional cut, and the fact my son now has to go into school on Monday looking like someone's thrown a pair of scissors at him and made him cut his hair himself I just want to cry 😭

Could he go to school half an hour later after a trip to the barber first thing?

SparklesAndUnicorns · 28/11/2021 23:06

@Justmuddlingalong I have work as soon as I drop them at school otherwise I totally would! I'm going to have to try and slick it back with hair gel until I can take him in the afternoon 😭

You’re overreacting. It’s hair, it grows, even up what you can of the fringe now or else just take the clippers and make it all the same length.

Justmuddlingalong · 28/11/2021 23:10

That's a shame. Poor wee soul. It sounds like a slick of gel's the only option. I presume stern words will be had with your ex. What a mean thing to do to his child.

I think any gel will only make it look worse. I'd just try to even up the worst of it.

I used to cut my son's hair. It usually came out quite well but this time it became strangely bouffant. His head looked spherical. I pleaded with my hairdresser to fit him in and flatten that hair. That was my last home haircut.

I am sure a hairdresser can improve it a lot.
