Smart watch

Hi, I'm thinking of ways to improve communication with my dc when they are at their dads and vice versa. So their dad & I aren't having to rely on texting each other so often & giving the dc out phones to talk to absent parent.

Does anyone have experience of using a smart watch tracker? Dc are primary ages. Would ideally be able to send messages to each parent/ call & count steps (for scout badges). GPS would be a bonus.

I'd prefer them not to have phones, but a Nokia 3310 could be an alternative.

Interested to hear what has/ hasn't worked for others pls.

I've been looking at the kidsnav for my 9 year old daughter

Oooh thank you that looks great. A bit pricey but does it all!

How old are your children. My youngest is nine and has a phone now. It has greatly improved my life that her dad can keep in touch with her without my involvement. She doesn't take the phone with her when she is at her dads. She has been going since she was 5. And is only away one night. So I didn't feel the need to remain in touch as I didn't want her feeling home sick at the start.

Spacetalk on contract with Sky for £9/month. Can only send or receive messages and calls with numbers entered via the parent app. Working well as a compromise for my 8 YO who wanted a phone but we felt was too young.

@WildStallyn I'll look into this.

Kids are 6 & 9 & I'd like them to be contactable while away especially on holidays.
