Trying to move but not getting help

I am a single mum with no local support, my closest support is my mum over an hours drive away.

I am trying to move closer to her but the council is not helping me at all as I am not being threatened with homelessness or fleeing domestic violence.

I am getting very depressed, not sleeping and stressed living where I am and I don't know what else to do as i can't afford to go private.

Anyone have any advice?

Could you actually move in with your mum? Work out something re rent and childcare so you could save for a private let or work / earn more?

There isn't room at my mums to move in there.

What support do you need OP? Emotionally/childcare is there something that's happened that makes you want to be nearer your mum?

I think tbh it's not urgent compared to some people being homeless.

Do you have any friends near by?

What are your circumstances. Are you currently adequately housed? Do you work/private rent? Social
Housing.

Put yourself on housing list with family you have a vested interest in living in the area. Will take a while though.

Exchange through social housing avenues?

Go look and rent privately.
