Oh dear lord!! I am glad he wants to, but i know its just going to be so awkward and horrible, and im going to end up wanting to kill him! Need lots of tips and ideas to help me through the day so I can enjoy it, and not get irritated by exp. How does everyone else cope?

Luckily (in some ways!) my exp has nothing to do with my 2 dds so no experience. I guess just lots of counting to 10 and deep breaths and maybe a few glasses of wine!

What are you doing? If it's a party will there be people there who know the score and can help to diffuse the tension?

no thats the problem. dd's birthday is on a wednesday, so mum and sis have work, bros have college, and most of my friends have work too, so will be doing things on friday and saturday. he's coming on the wednesday so probably wont be here til the afternoon (hopefully!) and will be staying at a hotel and leaving the next day. hopefully he wont get here until everyones finished work, but i doubt it, as family wont be able to come round til at least 3:30

Can you not put him off until a bit later with a white lie? Just so that other people are there to help the atmosphere
