Hello, I used entitled calculator to work out how much support I might be eligible for to see if it is possible to leave my husband. I answered all the questions as best as I could. Please could anyone tell me if this sounds right?
I earn around £1180 per month, pay £510 in childcare and expect rent to be approximately £900 pcm. The calculator estimated that I could be entitled to just over £300 per week...this seems a lot, and would make it very feasible for me to manage on my own with my child.
Does anyone know how child maintenance works? Thanks in advance

The entitled2 website was accurate for me. Would do it. Few times to check.

CMS is based on number of kids and number of over nights the nrp has them.

1 child is 12%
2 children is 16%
3 is 20% I think.

This is on earning before tax and NI. But after pension deductions.

Then it goes down on a sliding scale based by the number of nights in 1/7th. Also if nrp has other children or moves in with someone else with children they can get a further reduction.

CMS are a bit rubbish though and if nrp is self employed expect nothing.

That could well be right
Maintenance won't be counted as income for UC calculations.
