RP/NRP- the “boring” jobs

Those of you with 50/50 custody, or thereabouts. Who takes care of the well being stuff like opticians/dentist etc?
Is this shared if you’re 50/50?
If you’re arrangement is more 60/40 then is the feeling that the RP should do these things more often as they have more time with the DCs. Or that the NRP should step up more as they’re dealing with less of the day to day stuff (school runs etc)?

If it is 50/50 then it should be taken care of by both parents. If it is not 50/50 the RP would invariably take on these jobs the majority of the time as the likelihood is that appointments would fall during their time. The NRP should of course take children to appointments etc if the soonest appointment available happens to fall in their time. Common sense should apply really.

Depends

Do the parents have equal weekends? Some of those places aren't open at weekends ao the weekday parent would end up doing more.

Do both parents pick up straight after school or use after school clubs? Round here the last optician appointment would be at 5pm ish so a parent who picks up from childminder at 5:30pm couldn't really take them to the optician on that day.

If it's an emergency then I'd expect the parent in charge to sort it. Eg child needs A&age

If one parent has longer working hours then they should sort routine appointments to fit in with their days off and to be fair with the parent who can be more flexible.

It depends on the job too. You can't leave "on time" with some jobs eg a childminder can't leave until a mindee has been picked up

Saying that, ideally parents with 50/50 should do 50/50 of the routine stuff

Aso depends if 50/50 is being enabled by a step parent or grand parent. It would be unfair for them to have to do the routine stuff
