Just a rant

I am a single parent to my 3 year old DC and have been with my partner (not the father of my dc) for 2 years. I live alone with my son and my partner lives with his parents. He stays with me around 4 times a week.

I'd like to know what mumsneters think...should I be cooking him dinner every time he stays? I am currently a SAHM and do everything around the house with no help (DS dad doesn't see him and never has). My partners family are lovely but it has been mentioned a few times (as a joke) that I don't cook for him. The main reason for this is that he is extremely fussy and has complained about most things I have cooked in the past (I have a 4 year older fighting with me over food all day, I don't want to do the same with a 40 year old). We usually either cook together or order a take away but tonight I cooked and he left pretty much the whole plate of food.

Should I be making more effort to prepare dinners?!

no, i would expect him to cook for you if he is that fussy. Why not do that? ask him what he wants to eat and ask him to cook?
