I had a brief relationship with an ex partner who made my life hell. Unplanned, I fell pregnant and I now have a seven year old son. My ex fell into a world of drugs / selling drugs and I kept my son from him and moved on.
He took me to court with legal aid to deny these ‘claims’
After two years battling it out in court, he was arrested and jailed for drugs. My life became peaceful again then he was released. The same day he got released he went to a solicitor to get more legal aid to take me back to court for contact. Is he not crazy? Lying in court and wants to go back? I’ve got a solicitor so happy to defend but even my solicitor was finding this situation bonkers. I’m disputing his legal aid also. I don’t know whether to feel stressed or laugh at his craziness. Any opinions ? My son doesn’t want to see him and hopes someone will speak with him about that so his opinion can be heard in court.
Anyone been through anything similar ?
My ex refuses to pay any child support and was the worst dad possible

I would seriously consider doing a runner. He sounds like a terrible influence, sorry this is probably not helpful if you haven’t got grounds to get a non molestation order I would just say to have supervised contact since he is a convicted felon.

How is he getting legal aid?! He needs evidence of domestic abuse or child abuse against you for that. I’m sure your solicitor will get to the bottom of it.

"I don’t know whether to feel stressed or laugh at his craziness"

I know how you feel OP. I'm heading to court accused of blocking access despite going to quite considerable lengths to facilitate contact. It's frustrating and the system is so unfair awarding him legal aid (Scotland) and wasting public money just so he can prove how much of a he is. Like your situation, my solicitor thinks it's ridiculous. I hope the sheriff sees sense for you and your son Flowers
