Safeguarding concerns

I wonder if anyone has been through similar and could advise?

Some safeguarding issues have arisen with my ex and his access to our child. I’ve stopped his contact for now with the support of social services. There is however a court order in place so I’m technically in breach of that by not allowing him to have our child. I know my reasons are justified so I’m not worried about getting into trouble or anything like that. I just wonder if anyone has had experience of this and what the process was like?

An application to the court has been made, I plan to request they order a section 7 report at the first hearing. I have experience of the section 7 process itself from before but I am hoping the actual court process won’t be as long and drawn out as previously. We had a fact finding and many smaller hearings before but that was before contact had even started and there was ALOT of history to Wade through.

Will it be a simpler process this time? Just trying to prepare myself for the solicitors fees and mental toll this is going to take!

My ex took me to court. There were huge safeguarding issues. I did have evidence for some parts.

I had a Cafcass appointment before court. She said she was recommended no contact without psychiatric and psychological assessments. Ex withdrew so it didn’t get further

It will be drawn out I'm afraid it always is. If the safeguarding conserns are that serious the child /s maybe given a cafcass guardian. They in turn will have a solicitor, this will be funded by legal aid on behalf of your children.
My last case took a year. It really depends on the actual case itself and how the judge views it. Good luck
