Asking for a friend

My friend has three children whose father sees them sporadically when he chooses. She contacted CMS to try and get regular payments as she is struggling massively and he never contributes.

CMS wrote to him and he has ignored their letters. As a result they are saying he is untraceable and nothing more they can do. She's given his parents address, date of birth, address etc because she doesn't know hi NI number or where he works they can't help. This surely can't be right? Anybody got any advice whatsoever???

They've also made it worse for her because now he knows she's contacted them he is making her life hell

How is he making her life hell? If he's in contact is there no way she can find his address somehow, or ask his family for it?

Has she tried contacting her MP? Ime they have great success giving organizations like CMS a kick up the butt.

This is madness, surely CSA must have a way of properly tracing someone? Loads of men must just ignore letters in the hope of not paying.

If he is threatening her she needs to go to the police

Thanks everyone I didn't think of mp I will suggest to her. Unfortunately she doesn't know where he works or his ni number which seems to be the problem. It's awful so many men must get away with shit like this it makes me so angry

I just gave them my exes name and address and they found him straight away, he never spoke to them at all and refused any contact with them, he’s never once spoken to them so they just take it direct.

Yes it's really odd. Did you know where he worked or have any other information?

He wasn’t working he was claiming benefits so maybe that’s why it was easier?

Yes maybe that's why although you'd think if they could find that out they'd find out where somebody is working. It's just a joke

Mine refused to engage but they still tracked him down and did an attachment of earnings. All I had was his address, name and date of birth.

@Wtfdoipick well that's what my friend thought would happen it seems crazy to us both that he gets away with ignoring letters and then they close the case. There must be a way they can do an attachment
of earning without her knowing where he works

Can she bring him to family court for a maintenance payment?

Same here. I’ve given them three numbers. And email address. His employees address. But coz he is ignoring them nothing they can do!
