I've come away for the weekend with the dc, ages 7 and 9, and I'm going slightly potty! At home they generally occupy themselves on screens and in the garden etc, whereas here (in a static caravan) we're in close proximity and it's relentless noise and questions! Grin Confused I'm finding myself a lot more snappy than usual and little things are really getting to me. They don't go to bed until 9ish, and then I go not long after. So I feel I'm getting very little downtime which won't be helping. And I can't potter around doing jobs which I would normally do at home. It's a beautiful location but I'm ready to go home!

Right now I can hear ds outside humming... Shock and for context, he's autistic so is really struggling to occupy himself without a screen...

I know I'm lucky to be able to afford to go away but please tell me I'm not alone in finding this a trial?!

I think I would give in and give them a bit of screen time or settle down with a film to give yourself some time, after all it's your holiday too so don't be too hard on yourself! It's hard enough day to day as it is without being somewhere new, at least the kids will look back and remember you took them away and remember it though!

Oh I would have given screentime if that had been an option, believe me! There was no WiFi and no films on the TV. We're home now (and on screens!) but I'm questioning what the point of it was :(
