Do courts listen to kids??

How much say do children get In whether they have access to the NRP? My DC do not want to see their dad but he won't accept this and has started court proceedings. Will the court take into account their wishes?

Think it depends on their age, how old are they?

15, 13, 11
Been told that my 15yo can decide for himself. Worrying myself sick about the other two being forced to go there when they don't want to

Yes they will , mine were 11 and 13 and their wishes were taken into account

I heard it was from 12 but not sure how true that is

I thought it was age 11.... Given all 3 ages I'd say you have nothing to worry about.

Yeh it probably is, given those ages I would say they definitely would have a say, not like you could force them at those ages anyway!

They listened to mine. Well, Cafcass did a full report and that was taken into consideration by the judge.

Initially, supervised access was stipulated but further down the line, it was decided contact by dad was to be indirect only - letters and cards.
