plentyoffish.com/other dating/online sites... any one had a meaningful relationship on there?

does anyone use them? are they any good/do you have anything other than a laugh on them?

I only ask as a friend suggested it but from my experience (aunty does the online dating thingy) she's met a few deadbeats/weirdos. so is it possible to find a nice man on them or should I stick to my good book and glass of wine!

lol. seee that's my other worry in RL I can spot a twat at 10 paces online is a bit harder cos they could be any one.

oh you can generally spot a twat online by the way they write , such as calling you hun (ugh), or saying you are gawjus (hate that so much)

or they immediately want your msn/ mobile number, a sure sign they just want you to e-wank them

i refused to talk to anyone who was personal, i only spoke to those who took time to get to know me, not the ones who just wanted to know if i had a webcam

pof was the best of the sites i tried out, by far

tho i met my exbf on cheekyflirt, however the majority of blokes on there were just sitting cock in hand waiting for someone to bring htem off, i think

Have to say that IMO I think POF and several other sites are crap and a complete waste time.

the thought of some edgit wanted me jsut for a bit of happys is quite frankly rather sickening. I do like a meal before anything of that nature lol. (well ok at least a drink! lol)

Well it is possibly just me, but it is very very rare that I ever got a message from anyone that I was remotly interested in. When I did I would always reply, say that yeah I was interested in chatting more etc and then i'd never hear from them again, which tbh is just nuts, why contact me in the first place.

For me it just puts too big a dent in my already battered self confidence.

Oh I know Lou, and I really enjoyed it when i went out last week, wanted to go again the next night LOL.

My friend kept saying 'see anyone you fancy', and i had to keep thinking of tactful ways to say 'erm no they are all mingers', as most of them were members of her family

Am off out in a couple of weeks to the mn xmas meet, but then after that i'm pretty booked up with kids b'days and xmas stuff. I am going out for new year though even if it kills me to get there.

as for toyboys- erm no deffo don't want one of those i'm 25 so want someone who's at least 28 H is 6 months younger than me and it really shows in his maturity levels so I'm going for the older man! lol. more settled (hopefully! lol) but then again for the minute I don't want another marriage or ltr! oh boy toy I think!

tetti - will have a look at that one. i've decided will try one of them - only for email/chats for now and maybe meeting someone in the new year once i've moved back home properly (in between 2 houses right now so it's unsettling for me as much as DS)

lol. yes I think by 30-32 ish they seem to have gotten over the whole out drinking with their mates all the time etc (or least those of my mates with older H's seem to have) also seem to be better with the kids/help more

my friend met her boyfriend through match.com. Her parents actually run a different dating agency but Its a bit of a niche market one and she never managed to set up their own daughter so i don't think its big enough to be worth while.

my friend joined the other day, just after i left pof, her inbox had messages from 3 or 4 guys who had messaged me, saying almost exactly the same thing
