How do I contact cms then?

DS1 told me yesterday that his dad has a new job. Yay. Means I'll get some maintenance at last (hollow laugh)

But how do I contact cms to check they know this? Or do I not need to?
We already have a case open, or at least we did. I've never closed it. Apparently I can't phone them, I have to do it online but its been so long since I had any letters from them that I have no idea what my case number/pin number/password is so I can't log in online.

There's no phone number online because its on the letters they send. But i don't have any letters. Hmm

Any ideas?

I don’t know why they removed it, I was looking for it the other day as well but couldn’t find it, in the end I managed to find it on a cm Facebook support group!

I think they hope we won't phone them and just forget about the money!

They're difficult to get hold of on the phone these days. Long waits, getting cut off and people not phoning back. There's no option to email so I am forced to write a stiffly worded letter, print it out and post it. Feels very old skool.

Do I need to stress myself out trying to call them? (I have severe depression and anxiety anyway). HMRC are meant to let them know he has a job aren't they? I suppose I should call just in case. Its all so stressful. Which I suspect is the plan.

I would call as I don’t think they do much unless you prompt them, I think they are pushing it to be an online only thing by the sounds of it! I’m cancelling mine when I came be bothered to get round to it but I just haven’t even bothered to call them as haven’t got the time to hang on hold for an hour, I also don’t have the 12 digit reference number either to sign up online as typical I can’t find the letters I had

WhatWouldPhyllisCraneDo · 23/04/2021 21:34

I don't mind it being online, but it's a bit hard to use the online service without the 12 digit number Grin
I'll call next week. Ugh.

HMRC won't inform them when an NRP starts working they inform them of the previous years earnings once the tax year is finalised so that they can review the amount NRP is to pay.

As PP said they aren't exactly pro-active so you have to constantly be on top of them to get anything done - when we first moved to CMS from CSA a few years ago I uploaded my court order to the online system in January & it took them until I phoned to query the progress on 12th April to do anything with it - they're basically CSA with a new name

The long waits are annoying OP but generally I find when I get through the women I speak to seem capable and sympathetic so don't worry. Ask them to send a letter reissuing your 12 digit number. Whilst on the phone ask them to reinitiate your case in light of the change of circumstances.
Just keep plugging away.
