Too all you amazing mums out there.

I hope that today you get 5mins to remember how amazing you are. If your day is hard or crap remember you got this, just like you did yesterday and every other day before. You will get there but when I don’t know as not psychic you can and are doing this.

Parenting is sometimes hardest and most thankless job but also has greatest rewards in simple things like hearing kids laugh.

Be kind to YOURSELF and not just today.

If parenting is joyful and easy then I got nothing for you but envy

My expectations were low yesterday. I don't say that in a bitter way, it's just the way it is. It's far better than the years where I had some expectation that ex would help the kids make the day special.

DS21 sent me a FB message. DS11 wishing me a Happy Mother's Day.
I know that DS1 sent DS2 a text to remind him so that was sweet.

I told DS2 that I wanted to spend some time with him so we baked a cake and went on a lovely walk in the pissing rain

I did get a bit sad scrolling through FB, but only really in that moment.

I lost my own Mum 10 years ago. I am fond of ex-MIL but she has dementia so it's not easy.
