Entitled to any help ?

Hi all, in a sticky situation at the moment in relation to my marriage.. long story short I have been having doubts whether I am happy for a while.. but it scares me to death wondering how i am going to afford on my own.
I do work full time and earn roughly £1400 a month but have to pay £550.00 for childcare costs as well as Mortgage and utility bills etc. At the moment me and my husband share all the bills but obvs if I were to leave I would take it all on except hopefully help with the childcare costs.

Does anyone know if I would be entitled to any help with a monthly wage of £1400 ?

Check out the turn2us website. There is a benefit calculator which will give you an idea of what you might get. They can oay up to 85% of your childcare costs. They no longer support those with mortgages. Unless you have been claiming for 26 weeks and agree to this support as a loan. And will cover the interest of the mortgage only.

Also check out the CMS website to see what the non resident parent should contribute. (Don't bank on this though).

Also go through your bills and cut everything back. And get a good idea of what your out going might remember your single person discount for council tax.

Good luck. I'm sure you can make the numbers work. I went from a very comfortable family income too my part time wages and universal credits. I make it work and the children and I are much happier.

also, depending on the age of your children, bear in mind it may be financially better off being part time until you get free hours for nursery/school.

just do some calculations, you get a better work allowamce too owning - something like 512 a month before they deduct, you will get UC though

Also wondered this, I'm pretty sure you'd get some UC support and also child tax credits. Go on to entitled to and turn to us it'll give you an idea also give citizens advice a call as well

Maybe look into going to work on a part time basis OP if that's at all possible, it's crazy but there's a chance you'd be better off by doing so. Have a play on one of those online calculators like turn2us
