Financial settlement court case

Hi all,

To cut a long story short my ex and I are going through the court to settle our finances. I just wanted to ask whether anyone had been through a court case to decide what percentage of the house equity they were entitled to based on having 2 young children to care for? I am the main carer of a 7 and 3 year old, we will be unable to stay in the family home as I cannot pay the mortgage alone and therefore the house needs to be sold. I have a solicitor who informs me that I will get more than 50% due to the children's needs but wondered what other people received? I understand it is based on needs/circumstances etc but any input would be helpful to put my mind at ease.

Thank you

I was reading your post and find myself in a similar situation .My girls are a bit older and I was a stay at home Mum we own our house with a small mortgage that I wont be able to pay so the house will have to be sold !! My husband has always said I would not get any of the house .Like you I'm worried what I would be entitled to .Are you any further along ?
