Hi everyone, sorry if I’m in the wrong place for this! I am first time pregnant and facing the life of a single parent. Just weighing up all of my options with regards to working and finances and finding it hard to get info on what support I would actually be entitled to as a single parent. Can anyone help me with this or point me in the right direction. Thanks so much in advance x

It will very much depend on your income and savings.

Hi OP.

Try these?

benefits-calculator.turn2us.org.uk/AboutYou

Or

www.entitledto.co.uk

Definitely use the "entitledto" website... You can adjust the work hours / wage to see what is best for your situation.

Make sure the father of your child pays maintenance. Go through the proper channels.

Turn2us will give you a benefit calculator.

Apply for child benefit
Go directly to CMS for child support. Do not deviate from this. I'm owed thousands but if it wasn't through the CMS there would be no recourse to try to claw it back.
