Supervised contact how it works

Wondering if anyone can share experiences about supervised contact.

It has been court ordered or my child where I live but not sure if it would be in the UK.

Can anyone help by telling me about how it has worked for you? How long was it ordered for, what did the parent have to do to move to contact being unsupervised, who pays for it, how did the child find it, did it work?

My child's father has been found in court to be emotionally abusive to the child and to me, and used unnecessary physical force with them on more than one occasion (and me).

Thanks very much. I've read a lot about uk supervised contact centres, but have no idea what sort of behaviours/acts the parent has perpetrated to have their contact supervised and what they would need to prove change, how long would that take etc.

If anyone has a no contact order from the courts, please can you share any info about that as well. Gratefully received as I'm finding it hard to gauge how seriously he UK courts will take my child's situation.

You might like to either post in, or ask for this to be moved to, the legal board if what you really need to know is how a uk court will interpret a foreign contact order - or if the order remains valid in the uk if it was made in another jurisdiction? Sorry if I've misinterpreted the thrust of your post.

@BewareTheBeardedDragon it is just my poor wording!

I dont have any experience of UK thresholds / tolerance of domestic violence and in which sort of circumstances they would order long term supervised contact.

If anyone here has used contact centres / has a no contact order I was hoping to get a view as to the background of how they got to that position.

I understand those details could be very painful, so there may be no one willing to share.
