Hello, I’m a single mum of 2 lovely kids. I have them with me 24/7 and don’t get any financial support.

I was just wondering what others in this situation do for self care? How do you take time out for yourself?

TV isn’t a daily thing in our house so I make time for me by having an afternoon movie as a special occasion; popcorn on the sofa, favourite teddybears join in... and I get 90 minutes off! 😃

Tbh it didn’t really happen till my Ds was in school.
The only way I got any time was the odd occasion friends had them .

After Ds was in bed. Even a haircut was a challenge

How old are the children?

I have quite a strict bedtime routine in the week Sunday - Thursday and little later on the weekend. This means I generally get to have a few hours to myself in an evening. Bath, face mask etc!

Have nails and hair done - people who are mobile and come to your house.

Pay a babysitter once or twice a month and go out with friends or family - family and friends often offer too which saves money, childcare swap with mums at the school etc.
