Backdating CSA payments

Can anyone tell me if CSA backdate payments?

Is it from the date of seperation or from the date they get in touch with the father?

Hi im still waiting for any payment but csa have been in contact with my ex and have told me that they will date the payments from that first contact with him.Hope that helps.

it is from when they first contact him i believe, not when you first contact them, or from when you separated.

I have now had 2 payments from the csa, -money deducted at source- and I first contacted the csa in march. They assured me that payments were back dated to when they received my application for maintenance. However I was able to provide them with address/work address/ni number/and all phone numbers etc. Apart from a few false starts, they have been pretty efficient,despite him not responding to any of their correspondance. They contacted his place of work and got all the relevant info - much to his horror! Keep hassling them and you may get some some joy. I think i've been pretty lucky compared to some of the posts i've read though.
