Not terrified of covid. But can't lone parent when ill. Hence, trying to avoid it.

. I don't have covid but I wouldn't have the luxury of anyone taking over when I'm ill. So I'm hell bent on not increasing my risk to catch covid while it's new. I'm fed up with the implication that people are scared. I'm just more fond of parenting and being able to pay my bills tbh. I haven't been out in years anyway.

I have flu jabs, have always been a bit militant about hand washing and keeping fit. I got in so much trouble at work when the DC's were tiny about time off sick that I've gone out of my way to keep well over the last decade. My tween is violent too so I have to keep well to keep her brother safe.

I just want to push through winter and get to Easter safe and well.

It's not just me is it.

I mean... it’s not that you’re being unreasonable to not want to be ill. But it’s concerning your tween is violent tbh and perhaps while you are well you could address this for her and your son and your well-being.
And also as a bedside- having just had covid- I was fully able to parent as before during it. As was my pregnant single mum adult daughter... no option to not parent, and not really all that unwell.

I’m frightened as well. I struggled to cope with my toddler in the past when I had a bad flu or food poisoning. I can’t imagine how I’ll cope if I have Covid. There’s no way I can get anyone else to help me if I have Covid, not even if I’m literally collapsing. I’m worried I’ll pass out or something and my toddler will be at risk.

No indeed - most people do put it in perspective and know their risk, and low risk people are on the whole not 'scared' of it, but are just concerned either for reasons like yours, or because they don't want to infect others, or they are specifically in contact with a vulnerable person or people.

Isa I've been trying for years, since she was 4. She had several weeks of appointments with the school nurse in year 5 which worked magic but they wouldn't continue. She's currently on a 6 month wait just for an assessment for counselling. Tween mental health support is shocking.

wiz a toddler would be hard. I remember those days.

I'm worried for the same reasons. I've got some soups and noodles in so that I can make DC easy meals if I'm ill. But that'll be fuck all use if I cant get out of bed.

When I'm ill I tend to tell someone and send a daily text, then they would know something is up if they dont hear from me.

Take vit d c zinc iron etc. Eat healthily.

yep, trying not to catch covid as we have various conditions which may or may not make covid worse. no information on it yet.
