I'm currently looking for work getting no where fast, everything seems to be shift work or working at weekends,
I'm happy to do anything but finding a job that fits in with school looks impossible, what do other single parents do for work? Any suggestions welcome. I was thinking about a driver job if anyone does that??

I do a 9-5 office job, but I asked for flexibility so I work 8.30-5.30 3 days a week and 8.30-3 2 days a week.
That means I get to pick up twice a week, and the rest of the time he goes to breakfast club and after school club, it works well and he gets the benefit of mixing with lots of kids beyond his class (in non covid times!)

I do an admin office job. I was incredibly lucky to get it as it's part time flexible hours, I work 8.30-2.30 so DS only has to go to breakfast club and I can be there for school pick up.

Hi, I have just resigned from current job as HR Manager to enable me to spend more time with my grandchildren. The company I work for, Mysoft Limited, are looking for my replacement. They are looking for someone to work 4-5 hours a day 5 days a week and will fit the hours around school times so this would be perfect for a mum with school aged children. Mysoft are very forward thinking in this regard as they understand that there is a vast untapped skilled resource in mums wishing to return to work once their children are at school. The full job description is on the Mysoft website www.mysoftx3.com in the Careers section. I just wanted to post this on Mumsnet as these opportunities are so few and far between. Good luck.
