Older single mum to toddler and finding things hard

So have had the week from hell starting with my cat having to be put to sleep to having a tooth taken out and now a stinking cold for both me and dd. To top it all off what I thought was a brilliant date with an old friend doesn’t appear to be brilliant as haven’t heard anything back from them. As if I wasn’t finding things hard enough I then get ghosted by a seemingly decent person and made to feel like crap. I think I’m coming off internet dating for good - anyone else had this 👻👻.

Could you message the person? How long ago was the date? They might just be busy. Commiserations on the cat. Hope you both feel better soon.

I hate hate hate colds. I'm hoping WFH will reduce my likelihood of getting one.

I have had success with Vicks First Defence though. It's a nasal spray. You spray it into your nostrils and your nose will run lots but all the nasty germs that are trying to set up home come out with all the snot. Quite clever.

If people around me have been under the weather and I've been alert to oncoming symptoms, normally sore throat is first for me, I've avoided colds if I've used it.

Sorry you have had such a crap week. Vicks plug ins are also great for a cold. They’re meant for kids but work a treat.

I feel you with the internet dating. I have basically realised there is no point until the covid nightmare is over as I have no childcare outside of my working hours (can’t ask parents as they’re vulnerable so I can’t see them due to my work).
