Child asking about father

Hi, I have never posted on here before but here goes...in 2011 I bumped into an ex-work colleague who apparently used to fancy me (long time before) we swapped numbers and agreed to meet up for a drink.

During the drinks he confessed he still liked me, fast forward a few weeks later we have started having an affair. He is married with two children.

This continues sporadically until 2014 and stops because I become pregnant. Which wasn't planned. I wasn't in love with him. But being pregnant changed everything.

I became shell-shocked and during the early stages he tried more than once to get me to have an abortion. I even went to a clinic but when they called me I didn't get up.

Fast forward to now and my beautiful funny boy has started to ask about his father. I just don't know what to say. I gloss over it by talking about the family we have and always tell him how much he is loved.

But I know the questions will keep coming and I'm not sure how to address them.

Be factual in an age appropriate way. All children have daddies but not everyone sees theirs and the reasons for that are complicated but I love you and I'll always be here for you

I feel for you. I am in a similar situation. I was with someone for about six months and fell pregnant. He bullied me into having an abortion but I just couldn’t do that to my baby. My D.S is now 8 months and I’m dreading the day he asks about his father. Breaks my heart just thinking about it. I hope more people reply with more advice, or even better someone who has faced this situation themselves.
