Lone parent holiday - doable?

My LB is 2 YO and looking at going abroad with him, any advice? Would you recommend? is it too much stress than it's worth?
All help is appreciated :)

You can fly or get the eurostar, and there is a restaurant, bar, pool etc on site, with a beach within walking distance.

I took my son away when he was eight and it was difficult but so worth it. Now thinking of doing it with my son and baby when we can travel. I suppose the main things are: how will you take him around, in pram or baby carrier? And make sure you have a nice base to go back to for breaks during the day. Also it can get a bit boring being stuck in at night when he’s in bed so a nice apartment where you can relax is better than a hotel. Where are you thinking of going? Do you have a friend who might like to go with you? Or your mum? When my son was little my mum and I would often have weekends away in the country

I took mine to tenerife on my own and it was loads of fun. Much less stressful than when I took them to the isle of weight with my mum and she made everything much more difficult.

Of course it’s doable, my mum took my nephew and my brother abroad alone when one was 4 one was 8. I have 4 kids so not possible for me alone but one will be fine.

I did it from ds being 18 months.
Only drawback was after 2 years I had to pay adult price for him.
I did Northern Spain first time (short flight).
Only take one suitcase make sure its on wheels then you can manage a pushchair and luggage.
Enjoy. You can do what you want when you want.

Holidaying alone with your child is fab!
Definitely do it and build memories.
Just be organised and practical. Things like wrist links and slings are great at that age. Use a backpack when travelling. Pay for transfers, they just make life easier.
Choose a hotel that's got entertainment. I prefer if abroad to go for half board, though I'd prefer more local food, children tend to prefer the international cuisine that many family hotels offer.
You'll find lots of people to chat with.
I built lots of lovely memories with my young child. Hope you do the same. Many of them not abroad, so don't discount themas they could be a good "dummy run".

Ps, I always take 2 suitcases and hand luggage which is a backpack, so that I split our clothes between the 2 suitcases, in case one is lost, but it also is easier to lift lighter suitcases than one heavier one. And I can take the oodles of snacks that my lo needs-even now at just school age I do this.
Oh and take wrapped up toys for the flights, all new thkbgs to keep them entertained.

I think its absolutely doable, if you are planning on somewhere with a kids club your dc will have a great time. Holidays are a great way to make friends for children and adults.

Last year I traveled over 8hours to Dubai alone with 3 boys; I’m in my late 20’s with a 8year old, 4 year old and 10 month old people thought I was crazy and to be honest I was so anxious thinking I couldn’t manage it but truthfully being a single mum is much easier when it’s sunny, warm and you’ve got the beach and pool trust me it was so worth it and we can’t wait to get back when we can

I've gone away with my kids, it was awesome and I felt really proud that I was able to give them their first abroad experience and it was joyous for us. I got them each a photo book made as a holiday album.

Absolutely. I took mine away at 2 on my own and it was stressful but so worth it.

Definitely doable but maybe avoid places that are very hot.

I took my 3yo to Lanzarote and it was 34 degrees, very little shade.
Ds woke at 4am, played until 11am, slept until 5pm, then wanted to party until midnight.

I took my DD to Berlin for the weekend when she was 5. It was brilliant. Pretty exhausting and not as relaxing as I would have liked plus we couldn't see all the sights that i would have done if I'd been on my own but it was great and we're long overdue another trip.

Yep definitely, I did it with my DD at that age. Costa Dorada - cheap and cheerful plenty of other single parents too.

I did go for a package holiday with transfers, children's evening entertainment, onsite play park and half board. One case, rucksack and buggy.

Do it, I'm not quite brave enough to do it with 2 DC yet though.

I'm really disorganised but I've done it ever since my DC was 1.
