Help!! Ex refusing contact coronavirus!!

Please help. My ex wife is refusing contact. We have an order, I agreed initially when she wanted to keep our daughter with her in the understanding we would have regular video contact, well she restricted and controlled it and refused it sometimes too, now I’ve said we need to go back to our usual order (no ones self isolating due to the virus symptoms, no vulnerable family living either side) because she’s already gone 8 weeks without proper contact now. Ex has said no she can’t risk it! Will the courts enforce contact??

There is helpful advice from the courts here

www.judiciary.uk/wp-content/uploads/2020/03/Coronavirus-public-guidance-updated-31-March.pdf

If the link does not work, google judiciary uk family courts coronavirus.

This might be of interest.

I’m on the other side of this having asked ex if we could push contact out a few days due to being quarantined. The request was refused and they threatened to enforce through the court as “withheld contact” despite me offering a simple 2 day deferral. Legal advice was to send DC even though symptomatic as it wasn’t clear how judges would view this kind of thing. DC subsequently became ill again with GP advising highly likely COVID 🤯

Assuming there are no vulnerabilities and perhaps if you can travel without using public transport then yes she is in the wrong and you should follow the guidance to uphold contact. Months is too long to go without contact unless someone is high risk

No one is high risk and ex and our daughter have already observed a 14 day isolation two months ago due to a cough and fever. Both of us drive no public transport involved and it’s a 5 minute car journey!
