When to give up with cms?

My ex doesn’t pay maintenance and hasn’t in 3 years. I’ve tried and tried but he’s always managed to avoid it. He is now on UC but as he has “priority debts” he doesn’t have to pay maintenance at all. He probably will always have debts, he will never work and has told me that. Do I just give up and close the case? I don’t think it’s worth the fight anymore. He also doesn’t see them and hasn’t in 3 years I know contact is not linked but just to give context.

Whatever you do don’t close the case . He will be building up debt no doubt

I know what you mean about it not being worth the fight. I fought for years to get my ex to pay child support through the CMS and I've not got very far ,unfortunately. I won't close the case though, because I know if I did, he'd be telling everyone that I didn't want support for our daughter and that's the reason he didn't pay ( rather than because he's a bone idle Parasite!)
When you have a child, you should have to pay to support them. Before you put food in your mouth, or clothes on your back, you should provide financially for your children. I won't stop asking for support for my daughter even though the CMS makes it very easy for her father to avoid supporting her.
