Holidays

How does everyone do holidays as a single parent? Do you go away? Alone or with family? We split earlier this year and holidays used to be a big part of our lives but I haven't had one this year. We share the kids 50/50 so that makes having them a whole week a bit trickier, so I'm looking for ideas now all the TV ads are of bloody holidays!

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

I'm not a single parent but my sister is, and she usually goes away for 3 or 4 days with her kids (sometimes with our parents, sometimes alone). last summer she went alone to France (Antibes) and had a fab time x

I do all inclusive, lots of in resort entertainment so it's the least stressful experience I can buy. Negotiate with other parent around time off and make up when back. Those holidays are a huge part of my children's childhood memories.

We just do the holidays we want to do. Sometimes we meet up or go /stay with friends, mostly its just us two. Sometimes short city breaks (Amsterdam at half term) We have some favourite places in the UK, Cornwall ( stay with friends) Edinburgh, London, York, North Wales - I look for deals at Premier Inn or we get a family room at YHAs. We have stayed at an ecolodge in Gambia, standard package holiday to Rhodes, we did go on an organised trip to Morocco which was a Family trip, one other family there that we did not know.
In 2020 my son has a big scout trip to Poland so our holiday together will be a caravan in Wales, same week and site as a group of friends.
