Hi, I am looking for some advice and ideas on how to keep my seven month old baby entertained during the day please? I am ill with severe anxiety and other health issues which has resulting in me isolating myself and being pretty much housebound (I am in my home for weeks at a time and my baby is not getting much interaction with anyone else as I rarely have guests and I am a single parent, I am receiving help for these issues) I am feeling incredibly guilty that my baby is in the house bored all the time, what could I do to make his days fun as I am feeling so guilty right now about him being in the house all the time. I know I should be taking him to soft play and walks etc but I just can't right now as I'm so ill. Any advice would be greatly appreciated thank you.

Painting: mix yoghurt and a drop of food colouring, doesn't matter if it gets eaten.

Food is fun to play with, cooked spaghetti/pasta, rice crispies, jelly, ice, squirty cream. Just watch if he eats any so she doesn't choke.

Sensory play, so things like ribbons, crepe paper, foil blankets, anything with different textures. All big bits and again, watch for putting it in his mouth!

There's lots of ideas online for baby activities, and don't worry about using a bit of TV to give yourself a break, it's not the end of the world and there's lots of 'educational' baby programs like Baby Einstein or Baby TV.

Have you got a home start near you and would you be happy for them to support you? They come to you for a few hours a week.

Well done in seeking help. I hope you are feeling stronger soon.
