Court Order Advice

Hello everyone, new to Mumsnet & Im after some advice.

For those of you who have a contact order in place. My ex was 50minutes late returning the children yesterday. No communication to say so. I asked for an explanation & he refused.

Does anyone know the legal stance on this. The contact order was put in place 6 weeks ago.

Keep a diary if it keeps happening hes breaching the court order, speak to your solicitor.

I have got an ongoing diary as timekeeping seems to be a problem.
But an hour late? Do I contact the police next time?

Yes i would. Its all proof for you. He should at least let you know and give a reason

Why would you contact the police after 50 minutes? Presumably you know your children are safe.

If they had gone in the morning and had no contact all day then didnt turn up at time due then yes id worry where they were and would ring the police. Depends on the relationship between exes too

If you contact the police when you already know that he can be late returning them you will end up in trouble.
If it goes back to court (and to be honest returning them late isn't at all a big deal because he can easily state you are trying to find fault or that the dc wanted to stay long or there traffic.) and they find out that you called the police even though you log him down for being late it again will look like you have issues.
He should communicate with you but from the sounds of it, you don't have a good relationship at the moment and it doesn't sound like it's going to change.

Its an extremely strained relationship. Lots of other issues that I dont want go into.

I have a log running & appointment with the solicitor next week
