Is this right?

His new girlfriend receives support from her childs father. Why does this have an impact on what my child deserves in payment from her Dad?

Not rung CSA yet, will do tomorrow its £75 a month difference!

Yes, it’s right.

VolcanionSteamArtillery · 22/09/2019 19:28

Yep. Its right

sue51 · 22/09/2019 20:45

It's ludicrous but it's correct.

pikapikachu · 22/09/2019 21:31

It's right. If he has another child with his gf it will go down again.

Muddlingalongalone · 22/09/2019 21:38

Totally nuts but yes it's true.
I have a decent relationship with exh and pointed out that he was prioritising her child over his own children & he adjusted his payment amount. He didn't have to though.

GingersAreLush · 23/09/2019 11:08

It’s a fucking stupid and unfair rule but yes it’s correct.

Jocasta2018 · 23/09/2019 11:22

In cases like these, does the maintenance received by the new girlfriend from her former partner go down or is it not affected?

GingersAreLush · 23/09/2019 11:30

It’s unaffected as far as I know. Which is fair but also highlights how ridiculous it is that a NRP can reduce the payments because they’re now living with someone who has a child with someone else.

pikapikachu · 23/09/2019 18:40

The new gf's maintenance is unaffected.

DaydreamInBlue · 25/09/2019 08:05

Yep it’s a farce. The gf payments don’t go down, the NRP payments do and on top of that, moving in together mean between them lower bills. So they are quids in and the RP looses out.

catspyjamas123 · 25/09/2019 08:41

Who makes up these rules? The author of Cinderella? Ridiculous.

PiggyPokkyFool · 25/09/2019 08:53

Yes it is right.
If you think that is crazy here is my friends situation. Her husband left her with 4 children for the OW - she had no idea. She was awarded maintenance - sizable he had a well established career, their 4 children were at private schools.
OW became pregnant, had baby, he became SAHD and therefore no income - maintenance amount plummeted and all bar one child(at key point education wise) had to change school.
