  1. Jan. Start claim

  2. Ex doesn't respond to CMS letters, calls, texts or emails over period of months.

  3. May. CMS arranges Collect and Pay direct from his salary. This take A Very Long Time because they still have to give the Ex time to decide maybe he will pay after all,

  4. Informed first payment will be end Aug.

  5. Then get message saying I was due to get a payment early July, but it didn't happen and they will look into it.

  6. I query this with them and they tell me that ex somehow (!!!!) managed to convince them to stop the Collect and Pay system because he didn't get ANY of the letters and he'd like to pay by Standing Order.

  7. CMS person agrees to this and SO it set up, which ex promptly cancels.

  8. CMS can't tell me why or how this happened or who did it, or how long it will take to look into or how long it will take to set the Collect and Pay up again, but 'someone will phone you next week'.

I am so angry and upset.

It is a frustrating process
Mine was similar. Waited six months for one payment collect and pay. Then he lost his job now another 5 months. Still no money.

I understand how it feels. At least the arrears are mounting. If you feel you are getting nowhere do contact your mp. That got me a response.

I feel your pain. In similar position, except claim started in March 2018 Hmm

How infuriating... I think my ex annoyed the CS’s worker because he told her it was inconvenient and hung up so I think I dropped lucky she went in all guns blazing

My payments stopped in May so I contacted CMS. Last week I had still heard nothing do I phoned again the person I originally spoke to had 'forgotten' to change the status of my claim.
My ExH is now claiming it is all my fault that he didn't realise his standing order had an end date, oh he has now lost my bank details so I will have to wait for him to make the back payment till they post him the details, but the CMS say that is fine. There was a whole load of other bullshit that he is claiming too.

Sorry to say OP but my claim lasted for probably around 9 or 10 years with the only money received at a court hearing when my son was about 5, my ex's mum paid off around £3k of a £6k debt to prevent him going to jail for 7 weeks, my son is nearly 18 now & I've had nothing since. Not sure what year it was but when CSA was changing to CMS i decided not to carry the claim over & told them to write to him to say I had relieved him of his financial obligation. I'd had YEARS of hoping & praying for money, phoning them each month without fail for an update to no avail & I decided I'd had enough. I took great pleasure in sending him a message telling him I didn't need or want a thing from him. It was such a weight off my shoulders.

My husband’s aunt is finally getting the back child maintenance that her ex didn’t pay. My husband’s cousins are 36 and 34!

On the bright side - aunty is having a very nice retirement!
