Housing benefit question ??!

I have a bit of a problem and I was wondering if anyone had any knowledge about it. I don't have anyone to be a guarantor but I do have someone who would lend (emphasis on lend) me 6 months rent up front which the landlord has said they might accept instead. Would I still be able to claim housing benefit if that was the case? I also wondered if you have to inform your landlord if you are pregnant? Thanks for any help.

Yes you can do, I did, but I had to prove what I did and why, so a letter from the landlord and the letting agent, copy of mine and my dad's bank statements etc. I had to have both a guarantor and 6 months up front in the same position.

And no you don't need to tell your landlord you're pregnant.
