Hello!
I am currently eleven weeks pregnant with a surprise baby. Ex wants nothing to do with the baby, or me, so I am trying to figure out how to get on my own two feet!
For the last six months or so, I have been out of work due to very poor mental health. I've done the odd babysitting job here or there.
Luckily, my parents have let me move back in with them.
Since finding out I'm pregnant, I've been applying for multiple jobs and have recently signed up for jobseekers.
That being said, I have no savings what so ever. I don't really want to spend these next six months doing nothing, and would love to find a full time job so I can save as much as I can. That being said, I was really hoping to be able to go on the council housing list and look into getting benefits. But I'm pretty sure if I work a full time job, at minimum wage, I wouldn't be eligible for any benefits or a council house?
Does anyone have any insight to what I should be doing? Or if that information is even correct?

Well thats not true. My sister is a teacher and lives in a council house. You have to apply to join there list. Different councils have different criteria's so its best to check with them. As for benefits you should be entitled to child tax credits and child benefit but that wouldnt be until the baby is born. for now it will just be job seekers until (if) you find a job.
