How much is taken off child maintenance for travel

He earns £55k
Works out on CMS website as £102pw I would receive

He travels 192 mile round trip each weekend to collect daughter

The online calculator doesn't take this into consideration but I know CMS do before taking payments if we went down the collect and pay route. And even if we didn't it does need to be considered

What do they deduct? How do they calculate that?

Nothing. Maintenance is to support the child. Not a quid pro quo for contact.

Unfortunately travel is deducted from the maintenance payments through the legal channels. So I do need to consider this.

I've been told a friend of a friend pays nothing as he travels 150 mile EOW although is on minimum wage unlike my ex

From the research I have done the first £15 costs to be covered and they use HMRC fuel scale charges.
So if he has a 1700cc petrol car that would be 15p per mile. Total £28.30 per journey minus £15 is £13.80 per journey deducted from CMS.
