I'm a single mother and was wondering if the child's father was liable for half of the holiday, tia?

It seems a little strange to me that you use the word liable, do you mean financially responsible to pay half of holidays you have together?

TOOT1 · 11/01/2019 17:00

Sorry yes financially responsible,I just used the wrong wording.

Sorry, do you mean holidays as in going away for a break, or do you mean is he responsible for paying half of childcare costs during out-of-term time?

In which case, no neither. He is legally obligated to pay a set percentage of his salary as maintenance and that's where his liability stops.

Parent999 · 11/01/2019 18:03

Maybe you could explain what you mean. Do you mean a holiday with flights, hotels etc? Or maybe childcare during holiday time?

On her other thread op says she has booked a holiday for her and her 6yo and asks is the father liable to pay for half the holiday (or words to that affect).

As I replied there, he's only liable for maintenance, and doesn't have to pay towards holidays.

Thanks for your advice.

Sorry this made me
lol, ofcourse not. My ex doesnt even pay any maintenance at all, so cant see your ex being resposible for paying for a holiday!
