Hello I’m a mum of a 13 month old and I’ve recently became a single mum. We moved back to my home town and things are looking good. I’m feeling very optimistic and I’m so excited for what the future will bring us.

It’s only been 2 weeks but I’ve decided with a new start i want a new me. I’ve started taking better care of myself and actually caring what I look like, I’ve also started eating healthy as I’m determined to lose the 35lbs I gained when I was pregnant. With all the positive changes I really want to do or buy something that represents a new beginning. Can anyone help me with some ideas? Definitelynot a tattoo

Thanks x

As daft as it sounds I bought a new bed! I've always had second hand beds and mattresses given to me and I'd always wanted a nice wooden king size bed, so when I became a single mum I just went and bought on with a sparkly new mattress that me and the kids could snuggle up on! X

Congratulations on the new life!

I'm a year down the line and when I think about the things I have enjoyed / am glad I've done, they include:

Decorating- pieces of new furniture, photos/ blankets. Totally overhauled the house getting rid of the biege and bringing lots of happy colour in.

Read a book called I Am The Parent Who Stayed. A book about single parenting joyfully. Makes you think about where you are and who you want to be in this new life.

Not so fun but- did the Moneysaving budget planner from the website. Again makes you think about where you are and who you want to be!

Very best of luck to you Wine
