This isnt the biggest deal ever but does still bug me from time to time so wondered others opinions. DD has mine and exes surname (not double barrelled) I was told when we registered her that if I put my surname first thats the one that would be mainly used (yes I did actually ask this question) anyway, over the years that hasnt been true and people would automatically call DD under exes name. Since shes been at school ive dropped his surname and she is under mine now, However some times other places refer to her as his surname. I got a letter the other day in which I was referred to as miss “exes name” throughout. Which was obviously uncomfortable. Ex is absent completely. I want to get rid of his surname for good but he would never give me permission and I dont want to contact him again at all. Is there any way round this?? as im not changing surnames mine is already there I just want rid of his.

Since naming her ive been told that people probably assume mine is a middle name when it isnt. Wish I wasnt told the wrong information when I named her.
