I don't want to derail the other thread but any ideas about ex who won't change my child's school shoes before trudging him to the woods on walks and returning them in a mess. I can't afford new shoes before he grows out of them but they're getting wrecked. Ex hasn't listened so far. I'm so frustrated.

Why not buy a pair of cheap shoes, and send DS to school in those shoes on the days when ex is picking him up . ( I assume that ex picks him up from school). Nice that ex takes DS for walks in the woods though - a lot of them don't bother.

Could you leave a pair of old trainers in school? Kid changes before dad picks up, goes into school the next day in old trainers and changes for school shoes?

You shouldn’t have to but it might be the easiest answer

Thanks. Worth a thought. I may try tgat. Yes nice in some ways but in the bigger picture the man is a bully who yesterday told his son he was a sissy and boys don't cry. I hate that there are so many defective parents out there.

He does everything to make a man of our 7 year old
Hmm

On the upside, ds comes home to me and gets balance away from toxic environment. Thank God we are not still married!

Im sure teacher would be happy for school shoes to stay at school overnight so they are clean for the morning

Does he have other shoes at his dad's, or does he take a change of shoes? Or are they going straight from school? A seven year old should be able to change his own shoes (assuming no SEN).
