Hi
Kids 14, 7,6. Iv been married 10 yrs,my ex has recently been inside for armed robbery and a domestic violence charge from his current girlfriend(+her baby), can i revoke his parental responsibilty? Hes never seen my eldest since she was really small. And never took any interest in her then.
Thanks in advance

It's unlikely. A court can remove parental responsibility, but they are very reluctant to do so. Most of the case law suggests it will happen only where the parent is a direct risk to the child. Previous cases have seen parental responsibility removed from convicted paedophiles and from those parents who have abused or caused harm to their own kids. Your ex's offences probably don't fall into that category, and a lack of interest from the father is unlikely to be grounds itself for a removal of parental responsibility. However, your best bet is to speak to a lawyer and get professional advice based on the much more detailed specifics of your situation.
