Hi I'm am intrigued as to how much financial help I will get. I have two kids and will soon be single. I work 10 hours atm until ds starts nursery end of Nov. I have looked at the calculators and it says around £1500 is this accurate. I know my ex will go for 50% custody and avoid paying maintenance at all cost. I will need to depend on benefits until I get money from house sale... Is this do able? My local rent wud be around £750-850. I'm so worried x

Hi op, my best advice will be to visit Citizen advice. Take your currnet spending details or bank statements, they will work it out with you. None of us will be able to see whole picture. I budget on around 1600 pounds per month, but the thing is I dont have to so I know I would be probably able to cut spendings even more. I hope that offers a bit of peace of mind however you need a tailored look in to your situation based on facts and figures. Good luck.

I know you will have to claim for universal credit and it will take 5 weeks to come through ....
