A question about maintenance

Ex pays £58 pw total for DS 16 and DD 12. He's on about £22k a year and lives with his parents

Apparently I'm out of order asking for a contribution towards new school uniforms.

What are you opinions? £58 pw doesn't go far, especially when DS is 6'2 and in men's clothes and school uniform can be expensive

unfortunately he doesnt have to pay anymore than what cms say. Annoying for you though.

Very annoying - he's always been a bare minimum type of dad

My ex only has to pay £7 a week for 4 kids its a joke that they can get away paying so little tbh!

My sons Dad only has to pay £41 a week. There is a DOE in place yet I have only had 3 payments this year, with the CMS saying that actaully cannot make the employers pay it, they work on good faith.
Always makes me laugh that this pittance is considered helpful. Lucky for my my son is 4 and only just started school. I'd be lying if I said I do not already worry about when he gets older and is in 'man sizes'. The maintenance wont even make a dent.
I really feel for you, but my experience with the CMS is they lack any powers, but if they say he has to pay a certain amount that's all you will get.
Shame really as you would like to think all parents wouldn't think twice about parting with their money when their children are concerned
