Estranged teenage children

Hello, I am due to have tea tomorrow with a male friend whose children are now living in America with his ex wife and new husband. Before they emigrated he took the mum to court to get an order that contact needed to be maintained and the judge was clear that mum and new dad must facilitate this. However since the move the teenage children 15 year old girl and 12 year old boy have had next to no contact despite friend trying on a weekly basis to send emails text and phone without any response. Ex wife says she isn’t going to make them communicate with their dad. It’s now two years without any conversation. He wants my advice on what to do next and should he carry on with these attempts even though he is finding it really hard. Any advice appreciated

As a dad, my advice is very simple. Never. Ever. Give up.

One day, those kids will want to know about their Dad. Or he will finally be able to track them down. He needs to use every means at his disposal to reach them.

As for mothers who do this, there really are no words for just how shitty that parenting really is.
