ExH and school report

Whose responsibility is it to ensure ExH gets a copy of school report?

Is it mine or the school's?

ExH has clearly fallen out with the school, and is angry that they haven't sent him a copy of DS11's report.

I spoke with the school at the end of term, and they confirmed they would be sending him a separate copy.

He is now demanding I make a copy of mine for him. I clearly can do this, but I would rather delay it, until after his holiday time with the children is ended.

There is a very difficult history between him and DS11 including past Physical and Emotional Abuse. Past Children's Services involvement, although now ended so no Social Worker to ask advice from. DS11 has special needs (Aspergers and Anxiety) and his school report is not great. I was quite shocked by some of it. My worry is that ExH will be quite angry when he reads is, and I am not sure if this is why School have delayed sending it until next term. It is a Special Needs school.

History of Domestic Abuse, and ongoing challenging behaviour from Ex. I am quite keen not to set a precedent of ExH expecting me to be a go-between between him and the school.

We have a list that comes from the office for children in our classes who have requested duplicate reports. ExH should have made this request to the school and then it would have been their responsibility to sort a second report for him.

It is up to your ex to register his email/postal address with the school and they will send him a copy of the report as he is a parent. It is not your job to do his admin.

I’d just stall him. Say you’ll look it out when you get time, and then if he asks again say you can’t find it.

I would just direct him back to school. Tell him ,it is better to resolve the issue with the school rather that it been an ongoing issue.

He should raise it with the school.

Thank you for the feedback - refreshingly everyone seems to be encouraging me to get ExH to deal with school directly.

I must stop falling into old traps. When I received his second angry text on the matter, I immediately started panicking that this was something I had to sort out for him.

Oh and ignore those angry texts only reply to anything relevant .

I realised with my ex he continued because he got a response . Got bored very quickly when I didn’t . When he ranted down the phone I hung up and switched phone off.
