The new child maintenance service.

I don’t know if it’s only in Scotland or if it’s wide across the UK. But the child support agency no longer exists as of April this year. I have been receiving maintenance for ten years until the new child maintenance service came into action. I have no contact with ex so can’t go to him myself. Every time I call CMS I seem to get some useless excuse as to why I haven’t received any payments since April. The financial struggles I’m having due to this is horrible :(. Is anyone else having great difficulty with this new system??

Yes its a very common problem, They are useless, I gave up in the end, wasnt worth the time or stress.

Agree they are bloody useless but dont give up - have you put everything in writing - the more people give up the less things will change - you need to complain and get on their case - let them know in writing how this impacts on you financially and emotionally - I have been in despair many a time - a useless fucking system designed to protect kids from useless fucking fathers - but fails miserably. I've told them how this adds to my stress, impacts on my depression and therefore impacts on my kids mental wellbeing. If we give up they get away with it - it's the mother's and more importantly the kids who suffer - this is just a job to them - it is our lives!

I must get back on their case - I've had to take a step back due to too much strain allround - my x has taken this to court tribunal - he's off on another fucking holiday whilst I'm lying in bed trying to bury my head in the sand - I need to get up and continue the fight!
