Just asking for any experience with using CMS if ex is working abroad. He works for multinational so will contact UK office in the morning for advice. Am getting monthly payment but same for many years while he plays disney dad! Told him I might try check what should be paid was told ‘good luck with that’!

Here's the official guidance - the CMS often can't help when a paying parent lives abroad.

However, in those circumstances, you can usually apply to a court to make an order that would require the father to pay.

If the father still doesn't pay, it gets trickier. The UK Court cannot enforce the order, because the father is outside it's jurisdiction. However, the UK does have a network of reciprocal agreements with other countries, where the courts of the other country can enforce the UK court's order. So getting the money could ultimately depend upon whether the father lives in a country where one of those agreements is in force.

It's a tricky area, so you are best off speaking to a solicitor on this one.

Thank you. I just feel that his salary would justify higher payment but difficult to know exact figures. Did find out about REMO countries and he probably is on payroll of one of those countries. Will have to start somewhere and make some phonecalls in the morning. He is UK resident. Will have to wait and see, bit nervous of him deciding to pay nothing if i rock the boat though!
