When is it appropriate to to do family days out with DS (aged 2) & new boyfriend?

Split with xp when I was pregnant over 2 years ago. Have been seeing someone new for last 2 months. He's met DS a handful of times and is amazing with him, which I am obviously really pleased about.

He is keen for us to spend time together as a family at weekends, (he also has a son). It's a lovely idea but I'm not sure as I think it's too soon. I don't want DS to become attached to him in case it doesn't work out.

Am I being overprotective of DS's feelings, or simply sensible?

yes I agree your little one will be used to you doing things with other parents and children, this will be no different for him. Plus it will also let the 2 boys get to know each other and become friends.
