Does anyone else really regret...

The person they had kids with?! Honestly I just regret it so much. I love my kids but I just really regret having them with him. He is completely absent through choice and I hate having 4 kids with someone I don't even talk to, honestly a part of me feels ashamed. He doesn't have any family either so my children have nothing to do with the other "side" of them at all. Also manages to get away without paying maintenance. Anyone else regret the person they had kids with??

My ex drinks a huge amount more than I was aware of, and I will do anything to keep my ds from seeing that side of him. When drunk he is absolutely vile. He is also spectacularly self centred and always puts his son last in priorities.
On the other hand, he is a high earner so I can at least provide my ds with a decent environment, and he does come to see him on a Sunday, although never takes him out anywhere, just takes over my sitting room & drinks my coffee.
I can manage my ex's obnoxious traits. I think I am more ashamed at ever thinking he was worth the bother.

But thinking about it, my ex was not kind, but without him, I wouldn't have ds, the best thing in my life, and for that fact alone, I can chalk it up to experience and move on.
I'm sure there are lots of us who feel the same.
